Open Source Software Based Linear Analysis of Myanmar National Grid Test System

This paper presents the dynamic modeling of Myanmar national grid test system in PSAT—free and open source software. Well-established linear analysis of 140-Bus, 31-Machine, 5-Area Myanmar national grid test system is carried out and employed to determine the small signal dynamic behavior of rotor angle stability. This paper also demonstrates the classical eigenvalue analysis of linearized grid model as well as the concept of network mode shapes to be elaborate. The participation factors have been assessed to categorize the participation of the state variables in the variation of different mode shapes.
