Abstract : Abstract- With increase in globalization and standard of living, there has been a steady increase in the use and development of consumer electronics. This calls for the need of convenient, simple, high security authentication systems to protect personal information stored in mobile devices. With increasing emphasis on security and high complexity of existing biometric systems in time or space or both, automated personal identification using finger-vein biometric is becoming a very active topic in both research and practical applications. In this paper, we have described and implemented an algorithm for finger-vein recognition system using image processing.
